Our quest to find out which of WWF or WCW produced the best-quality programming of The Monday Night Wars begins with an examination of the wrestling equivalent of Archduke Franz Ferdinand’s assassination – aka the first episode of WCW Nitro – followed by the first Monday night ratings ruckus between Raw and Nitro.
